Independent Safeguarding Authority

The Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) has been created to help prevent unsuitable people from working with children and vulnerable adults. We will do this by working in partnership with the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), which will gather relevant information on every person who wants to work or volunteer with vulnerable people

Criminal Records Bureau

The CRB is an Executive Agency of the Home Office set-up to help organisations make safer recruitment decisions. The Agency provides wider access to criminal record information through its Disclosure service, checking police records and, in relevant cases, information held by the Department of Health (DH) and the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF). As an organisations that uses CRB checks as part of its recruitment process, we must comply with the CRBs Code of Practice.
